2006-08-22 - HRP site moved... again.
Yes The HRP once a again has a new url. This time it's hrp.duke4.net and hopefully it will stay that way. As the url hints at we now have a new host, namely duke4.net. With the move I have also redesigned the site and it now has a lot more logical structure code wise which makes it tons easier to maintain so expect me to bother updating it a bit more frequently. A big thanks to Redsplat for helping out with the kickass design and Yatta for helping out converting content from the old site. The main resons behind the move is that the old url was a bit long, gamespy's adds is a bit much, better file hosting and over all just less restrictions. PlanetDuke was a good host but duke4.net suits my needs better. A big thanks to Gamespy and PlanetDuke for the old hosting. A bit of the content has been updated and some new content has been added. To see what has changed just check out the different sections. Expect more stuff to be added over the next few months and if there is anyone out there with sugestions on additions please email me at parkar82 at gmail dot com. As for the reson for this site a new release of the HRP should be out in the upcomming months and I will be keeping this site updated on how that progresses. Like I have mentioned before NightFright is now the one who is collecting the content while I focus on content creation as well as taking care of the installers and such. The goal with the next release is to have the first episode completed. I'll post more details later in a progress update. P.S. Notice that any mails should be sent to parkar82 at gmail dot com now and not the old PlanetDuke address. |

2006-06-14 - HRP XTR released!
Yes it's a long time since the last HRP version was released. As some of you may already know there has been a unofficial update pack for the HRP made by NightFright. As people requested it to be merged with the official HRP as one big download for convinece here is HRP XTR(external release) that contains the last HRP version along with all the changes in the update pack and a fresh build of the eDuke32 port. The update packs provided by NightFright will be based on this pack from now on. The new pack has about 40 megs of new content compared to the latest HRP version as well as a lot of other tweaks and improved art. Eventhough it's hosted here the pack is still unofficial as I have had nothing to do with the making of it (hence the name XTR) so any praise or technical issues should be directed to NightFright. Depending on how things go the update pack may be part of the official HRP sometime in the future and the next full release will probablly an official version made by me and NightFright. Currently it's only avaliable on Fileplanet but more mirrors will be added soon. Same goes for zipped version for unix and advanced user installation. Head over to the download page to find the download links. And here is a link to NightFrights update pack page. Update: Forgot to update this post when I added Plagman's mirror of the XTR pack. This version is a zip file so *nix users should grab this file. It also comes with mapster32 and a batfile to launch the HRP. |

2006-04-02 - April fools
Just in case anyone fell for the joke I should probably let everyone know that the news yesterday was an april fools joke. It started with the picture posted that I rendered a few months back and I just thought I might as well do a joke on it rather then just posting it at some forum somewhere. |

2006-04-01 - First shot of the new DX9 renderer for Duke
This is what I have been up to the last couple of months and is one of the reason I have not released any new versions of the HRP since november. It is a full DX9 rendered built ontop of the polymost engine with these new features,
And here is a shot to showoff some of these new features. The new renderer will hopefully be featured in jfDuke and eDuke32.(Neither JonoF or TerminX has seen the renderer yet) Head on over to this thread to discuss the new renderer. |

2006-10-30 - Duke Nukem 3D 10th Anniversary
One day to late since there was some technical issues with the website. 10 years ago Duke Nukem 3D shareware was released. To celebrate that I thought I should release something so therefore a beta version of a little mod me and Hellbound has been working on for the HRP is avaliable on the download page. The idea behind this mod is to fix things like the turning corpse of the Assult Commander, add new effects and small gameplay tweaks. The mod will be included in future HRP releases but since it is a mod it will still be possible to play vanilla Duke with the HRP. In this beta version the monsters have painskins and improved gore like in the gore mod released on the 3DR message board, proper freezing with uniqe models for the frozen monsters plus a bunch of other small changes. Since this mod is very much in early stages feedback on the effects such as "To much gore, that looks stupid, could you add [insert feature here]" etc would be valuable. Suggestions and comments should be mailed to me (parkar at hrp.planetduke.gamespy.com). Download it here. It turns out the included eduke snapshot had a bug making it imposible to save in the game. To remedy this get the latest snapshot here. If it is going realy slow just cancel and try again. And incase you have trouble getting it to work make sure you have this setup,

2006-01-08 - Torrents down
Filerush has shutdown their torrent tracker as of january 1. This means the bittorrent downloads of the HRP is no longer avaliable. I will be looking for a new tracker but can't promise when the torrents will be up again. If you have any torrent tracker sugestions just mail me at parkar(at)hrp.planetduke.gamespy.com.

2005-12-29 - HRP site moved
The webpage has moved to the new gamespy hosting service and is now avaliable at http://hrp.planetduke.gamespy.com. Since the new service suports PHP I will be working on making it PHP-based to make posting news and updateing other parts easier. A redesign is also likely to follow with the update. In other news the mirroring issues should be resolved now that I have the fileplanet download up as well as two new mirrors for the windows installer. This also means the next release should go a lot smoother (hopefully). |
